A sexy, swoony romance from New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Jessie Evans.
Cowboy bikers, fireworks, and romance, oh my…

Wild girl, Mia Sherman, has a secret–she isn’t as fearless as she pretends. Descended from Lonesome Point, Texas’s founding family, Mia grew up hearing tales of an old Irish curse that had followed the Shermans to America. At age twenty-four, Mia is still terrified of the stories, because they aren’t stories. They are a warning about what will happen if Mia allows love and romance into her life. The curse struck Mia’s grandmother and her great-great-whatever grandmother, and Mia knows she could be next. The first-born daughter of every generation is cursed to lose her husband on her wedding night, which is one of the many reasons Mia has sworn off relationships.

Until the fateful day Sawyer Kane rides his Harley into her life…

Rancher turned restoration expert, Sawyer Kane, can’t believe his luck when the feisty owner of the lingerie shop next to his hotel turns out to be the curator of his latest project, a ghost town he’s been sent to restore. He’s looking forward to long, hot days talking history, and hotter nights with Mia, but the redhead with the killer smile seems determined to keep him at a friendly distance. But when a dangerous man from Mia’s past arrives in town, Sawyer finds himself drawn into her inner circle, and into the legend of Lonesome Point itself.

Can true love conquer all, even a centuries-old curse? Mia and Sawyer may be the first to find out.

Look for the entire Lonesome Point series:

The 12 Dates of Christmas: A Lonesome Point Holiday Novella

Fans of Brenda Novak, Lori Wilde, and hot, alpha cowboys will love the Lonesome Point Texas series!

Sawyer searched her face in the glow of the moon, the soft light making her look even sexier than she had in the yellow bulbs strung above the farmer’s market. “I really like you. A lot.”

“I like you, too,” she said, her full lips curving at the edges.

“But I meant what I said before, about not being ready for anything serious.” The words tried to stick in his throat, but Sawyer forced them out. He owed Mia honesty, and he wanted to make damned sure they were on the same page before things went any further. “I want to make sure that’s still okay. I wouldn’t ever want to hurt you.”

Her smiled faded, but her eyes remained soft, unguarded. “You won’t hurt me.” She ambled down the stairs, stopping on the stair above his, putting them face-to-face and their lips inches apart. “I’m fine with a night, or a week, or the summer…however long feels right. And when it stops feeling right, we go our separate ways, no anger, no regrets.” She lifted her arms, twining them around his neck, sending arousal surging through his body. “This is exactly what I need, Sawyer. You are what I need, and I can’t wait to touch you. Everywhere.”

Any hope of resisting vanished as that last word feathered between her tempting lips. Sawyer closed the distance between them, claiming her mouth as his arm wrapped tight around her waist, crushing her body to his. Her breasts flattened against his chest and her body heat caressed him, making his pulse spike and a moan sound low in his throat. He wanted this woman—badly. And he was past ready for them to be alone in a room with a bed, a door, and a lock to keep the rest of the world out.

Sawyer lifted Mia off her feet, carrying her through the shop entrance before kicking the door shut behind them.

“Up the stairs,” she whispered against his mouth. “Bedroom’s up there.”

“You taste fucking amazing.” He hitched her thighs around his waist and took the stairs two at a time. “How can you taste this good after tequila and tacos?”

“How can you lift me like I weigh ten pounds?” she asked, breath rushing out as his fingers dug into the strong muscles of her ass. “God, I love your hands. I couldn’t stop staring at them today.”

“I love your ass,” he said. “And your legs, and your shoulders in that tank top, and the freckles on your nose. I’m a fan of every inch of you.”

“The feeling’s mutual,” she said, thighs tightening around his hips. “Right here. Blue door.”

Sawyer opened the door at the top of the stairs, and moved into the shadowed room. He smelled vanilla and lavender, a feminine scent that was sexy and homey at the same time. He peered over Mia’s shoulder, spotting a bed with ruffles cascading down the sides, and an odd-looking rug warming the hardwood floor beside it, but he didn’t stop to flick on the light to get a better look at Mia’s choice of decor. The moonlight streaming through the window cast enough light to see the heat in her gaze as he laid her down on the bed, and that was all the illumination he needed.

“I want to taste every inch of you,” he said, working open the buttons on his shirt. “Head to toe.”

“No toes,” she said, pulling her tee shirt over her head, revealing a white lace bra a shade lighter than the creamy skin of her breasts. “I’m not a foot girl.”

“You will be when I’m done with you.”

Howl by Brittney Dussault, Promo & Giveaway

Howl blog tour banner

After an archeology expedition gone wrong, Lis Santiago is assigned a desk job at The Library, an underground archive dedicated to the history and study of supernatural creatures. Run by humans, the joke about The Library is that it’s operated by people who know everything about magic… except how to use it. Lis is no exception, and after three years, she’s finally accepted her new, albeit lackluster, career.

Then a request is made: Supernatural creatures in the area have gone missing, and the Alpha from the local werewolf pack wants a Librarian to aid in the investigation. But he doesn’t want just any Librarian, he wants Lis. Accepting means time away from her desk, but it also means having to be paired up with old partner Jonas Highet, who left her waiting for him in Italy five years ago. This isn’t the reunion she had in mind, but when the Alpha calls, it’s hard to say no.

Lis quickly wishes she had.

The Alpha already has a suspect, he just needs Lis to convict him… even if there’s no proof he’s guilty. But the Alpha’s sister thinks her brother’s scapegoat- a wolf named Mickey Kaiser- is innocent, and she wants Lis to prove it.

Caught between a pair of siblings known for their cunning ways, Lis is going to have to find out what’s so special about Mickey Kaiser, while simultaneously keeping Jonas from killing the man. And just when Lis starts dreaming about her desk job, the first body is found.

It’s unlike anything Lis has seen before.

“That sly fox,” Lis said appreciatively. She tossed the file back to Jonas who caught it with a grimace when he accidentally brushed up against some unidentifiable thing. It was blue and furry and that seemed enough to get Jonas’ stomach rolling.

“Care to explain your brilliant theory?” Jonas asked.

           Lis smiled.

“Nice to know you haven’t forgotten how brilliant I am,” she said and then gestured to the apartment again. “The smell is covering his scent. If it weren’t for the god awful stench, you’d have known this was a fox den the second you walked in. Ken was keeping his home safe.”

“Safe from what?” Jonas said and Lis fought the urge to punch him. Beautiful he was, but he was also prone to bouts of obliviousness, courtesy of his upbringing at the top of the heap in the pack. It was hard to pay attention to the real world when your life was nothing but golden spoons and the belief you’d one day be Alpha.

“Safe from wolves, dumbass,” Lis said. She slipped between the televisions, having to climb over an old dresser, before landing in the narrow pathway before Jonas. “The local wolves have been getting into fights and hunting foxes for years now. Looks like Ken Mori found a way to stay safe on his own.”

“Then why is he missing?” Jonas ignored Lis’ glare and shook his head. “It doesn’t matter. You’re not here to investigate, you’re here to prove Mickey Kaiser is guilty.”

“Guilty of what?” A key piece of information floated to the forefront of Lis’ mind and she fixed Jonas with her best glare. “Guilty of taking down a fox? Where’s the crime in that?”

Before Jonas could retreat, she caught him around the collar of his jacket and with a well placed kick to the back of the knee, he hit the ground with a thud before Lis curled herself around him, her arms circling around his neck. She applied just enough pressure to get his attention.

“Why is the Alpha having me investigate the disappearance of a fox?” Jonas made a show of struggling, but they both knew if he wanted to, he could have her heart outside her body within seconds. Which meant he didn’t want her dead. Or at the very least, he had orders not to kill her.

“The Alpha didn’t want you on this case,” he said. “He’s not the reason you’re here.”

Lis released Jonas and stepped back, almost hopeful he’d been the one to send for her. But then her brain caught up to her idealistic naivety and squashed her hopes, reminding her that although her and Jonas had had a good time once before, that time was long passed.

“Then who sent for me?” she asked. “Why am I here?”

Jonas looked over his shoulder at her, one hand rubbing his neck idly.

“The Alpha’s sister,” he said. And then, “My mother.”

Strike of the Cobra by Stephen Heubach Promo

strike of the cobra cover

I had just arrived in Istanbul, Turkey. My first foray into for me what was the complete unknown. My point of contact was a suspicious man named Han. We had met several times in London but he had been less than forthcoming with details about his operation here in Turkey. He greeted me warmly and we walked out of the terminal and into a cold but sunny morning.

Han located his car. Despite his story of it being a new purchase it was clearly a rental car. Han then proudly announced to me he had once been a racing driver and we were off onto the Turkish roads. He seemed determined to prove his previous career and I was wishing I had a helmet.

We came to a screeching halt outside a very opulent hotel. The best in Turkey Han announced. I suspected it was over my 45 dollar a night price I had set but Han didn’t seem to listen to a word I said. I was to be his guest and he would take care of the cost. My unease with the situation grew.

The next morning Han collected me from the hotel. We were off to see his operation here in Turkey. He had promised a modern factory, which would supply the boats we were looking for. It was going to be a hard sell for him as the US plant my partner had been to see was just what we had been looking for.

Once in the car we were off as fast as the Mercedes would take us. Han was weaving through traffic and narrowly missing other vehicles. If the suspicious circumstances didn’t ultimately lead to my demise I felt sure Han’s driving might.

Han refused to disclose the location of the factory. His elusive replies to my questions had started to make me concerned for my safety. We were now on dirt roads with no signs and I had no clue as to my current whereabouts. My anxiety grew and after becoming increasingly persistent Han replied abruptly and without a hint of humour that he had kidnapped me.

Once we arrived at the factory I did relax slightly. The factory was in no state to produce the quality of boat we required. My questions displayed their lack of knowledge and my suspicions increased further. My anxiety grew when despite my explanations regarding why we could not accept the boats they persisted by saying we would like the boats they would send to us in London. Why were they forcing the boats upon me? Surely they knew we can’t sell boats that don’t meet the appropriate legislation.

After an exhausting day and wondering whether I would see my family again let alone the hotel we arrived back. The following day we were due to take a boat trip. I felt this would be a great opportunity to relax and maybe I had been wrong about Han and his suspicious behaviour.

The next day Han collected me from my hotel. Expecting a modest leisure boat I was shocked to arrive and be welcomed on board a $2.5 million dollar yacht. It was absolutely exquisite. However there was no way Han was making such purchases from selling the boats he was producing in the questionable factory he has showed me. Family money perhaps? Or maybe the factory was a new venture?

The journey was uneasy. Neither Han nor his associate spoke to me. They kept were talking in hushed voices at the back of the boat. A sickening revelation when the case would all come to trial was they had been discussing whether or not I was going to fall for their scheme. Had they been convinced I wouldn’t then my parting gift would have been a pair of cement shoes and a deep sea dive.

The final night in Turkey came and after a delicious dinner with Han and his wife I retired to my room. I was awoken just after midnight by my telephone ringing and banging on the door. I peered through the peephole to find Han outside my door with two women of ill repute. Along with him he had a bellboy who he was persuading to open my door. I flung the door open and sent them all on their way. What on earth was Han thinking? Was he trying to set me up by forcing a compromising situation upon me? My flight home tomorrow could not come early enough.

A very awkward drive to the airport followed in the morning with Han continuously saying he would send the boats to us. I knew there was more to this but needed to extract myself from the situation as rapidly as possible. I finally relaxed on board the BA flight to London.

As we left the plane we were all greeted by Customs when leaving the plane. This was most unusual and I suspected this had something to do with Han and the business deal he had tried to coerce me into. My heart was racing. My bag was the last to make its way to the carousel and had clearly been opened. I was stopped again by Customs when making my way through nothing to declare and asked further questions about the reason for my trip. After all this would they believe it had been an innocent business trip to visit a factory? It appeared my hunch was spot on and Han’s activities whatever they may be were less than innocent.

Once back at the office I sent Han a letter thanking him for his hospitality but explaining we would not be able to accept the boats. I heard nothing for 2 months. Then at the office one day, out of the blue my secretary said Han was on the phone. I found this odd but took the call. Han simply told me the boats had been sent to me. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

We persisted and said we would not be accepting any boats and had found another supplier in the USA. Han was not happy and along with his associates they needed a new plan.

Han had to come to the UK himself to collect the boats and they made alternative arrangements. Customs had been keeping an eye on Han for a while and had a good idea what he was doing. After Han collected the boats they caught him red handed with the second largest drug seizure in UK Customs history.

When Customs contacted me I was shocked to find out everything I had suspected was true. Why hadn’t I trusted my instincts? My family was now in grave danger. Han had no intention of spending the rest of his life in jail and his associates, some of whom I had unknowingly met, weren’t going to risk jail time either. Customs curtly told me I had to testify and was given no choice in the matter.

My family was vulnerable and at risk. I was the only person who could testify and help them secure a conviction. Han and his associates wouldn’t hesitate to kill me in order to prevent that happening. I needed a plan.

Stephen Heubach, originally born in the UK, migrated to Singapore with his parents as a child where he spent his formative years. On returning to the UK in the mid 80’s he worked in London for 8 years. He then returned to Singapore to start his own business which he ran successfully for 16 years during which time he travelled extensively.

An avid reader of crime / fiction and thrillers, Stephen was confronted by a harrowing real situation during his business years which paved the way for ‘Strike of the Cobra’. Ideally this would have been written as a fictional thriller but with the core of this story based on fact, his reaction to the events that unfold tell a far more real story and one that many would be able to engage with.
